Record 10 Year Plan Results
Q1 (April 1 to June 30, 2010)
During the first quarter of fiscal 2010/2011, nearly 350 people receiving affordable housing and support services under Calgary's 10 Year Plan to End Homelessness.
"We're beginning to see the full impact of funding provided by the Government of Alberta as programs started last year hit their stride," said Tim Richter, Calgary Homeless Foundation (CHF) President and CEO. "If we maintain this pace through the year, we're on track to house more than 1,300 men, women and children."
Other notable progress in the first quarter included the CHF purchasing two properties for singles, couples and families in April and starting renovations on five existing properties. Read the full story.
Elvis Gospel Tribute Concert
Friday September 10, 7 p.m. at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium
Good News Radio is holding a benefit concert starring the Elvis' Imperials and featuring Bruce Sheasby (AKA "Rev. Elvis"). $5 from each ticket sold will be donated to the Calgary Homeless Foundation. Tickets are $29 or $39 (plus fees), and can be purchased through Ticketmaster. Attendees will also have an opportunity to learn more about Calgary's 10 Year Plan to End Homelessness. View the poster.

Ed's House Warming Party
Wednesday October 20, 5 - 7 p.m. at the Metropolitan Centre
Join the Honourable Ed Stelmach at his annual House Warming Party to help end homelessness in Calgary. At this year's event, Premier Stelmach and the Calgary Homeless Foundation will raise money to support affordable housing for those at risk of or experiencing homelessness in Calgary.
