Launch of Calgary's Youth Plan, August 12, 2011

The CHF and 21 local organizations celebrated the launch of the first-ever, city-wide Plan to End Youth Homelessness (Youth Plan) in Canada. The goal of the Youth Plan is that by January 29, 2018 the maximum average stay in an emergency shelter will be reduced to less than seven days, at which point any young person will be moved into a safe, decent, affordable home with the support needed to sustain it. Read the Youth Plan, view photos from the day, or watch a video of the youth who shared their stories of homelessness.

Thank you for helping us build a playground!

Thank you to KaBOOM!, the Home Depot Canada Foundation, the surrounding community and 200 volunteers for helping us build a playground for children of the foundation-owned family housing complex in Acadia. After a successful design day where children drew their dream playgrounds, we built the playground on Thursday, September 16, 2010.
