Aboriginal Friendship Centre of Calgary (AFCC)
Provides numerous programs and services to support Calgary’s urban Indigenous community including housing services, community programs, Indigenous culture education and outreach, youth programs, and employment resources. Support with status cards and Jordan’s Principle applications.
Aboriginal Futures Career & Training Centre
Offers one-on-one career counselling with career development practitioners providing preparation, coaching and referral services.
Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS)
Offers a Pet Assistance Program for people experiencing financial hardships—providing pet essentials like food and litter. AARCS also provides an Alberta Animal Disaster Response program, may assist with owner surrenders, and offers Compassionate Care programs for pet medical help and senior wellness clinics.

Alcove: Addiction Recovery for Women
Provides long‑term residential recovery treatment for women experiencing addiction, mental health distress, and trauma, allowing mothers and children to stay together during recovery process.
Women (18+). Must meet eligibility criteria.
Alpha House Calgary
24/7 short‑term, crisis‑oriented emergency shelter for adults who are under the influence of alcohol or other drugs.

24/7 drop‑in shelter for youth experiencing homelessness, offering essential items and support services.

Carya Calgary
Bowmont Commons
Provides free or low-cost programs that support mental health, strengthen families, improve living conditions, and foster social connections. Services include subsidized counselling for families and seniors—available in person, online, or by phone. Also offers financial literacy supports, such as financial education workshops, one-on-one financial coaching for older adults, and annual tax clinics.
Families and adults (18+ and 65+). For tax clinics – low-income seniors and individuals on Income Support or AISH.
Hull Services
Bridging the Gap (BTG)
Program that provides support to young people who struggle with mental health concerns. Offering education on mental health, skill development and assistance with accessing community services. To be eligible, you must be able to set and work toward personal goals, including addressing mental health needs, and not currently receive support from Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) or Children’s Services (CS).
Ages 16-24. Must meet eligibility criteria.
Recovery Alberta
Calgary Adult Addiction Services Addiction Treatment Centre
Non-medical treatment facility for those experiencing problems related alcohol, drugs, gambling, or sex addictions. Offers short-term, outpatient counselling, education, skill and support group programs, and a 4-week intensive treatment program for those committed to abstinence.
Intake required.
