Meet Us
We are passionate about guiding the fight against homelessness.
We allocate resources for highest impact and outcomes, build knowledge and understanding, and galvanize public and political will to ensure people have the right housing and supports at the right time. Read our annual report for more information, and discover how we are funded and who we fund to accomplish this work.
Calgary Homeless Foundation was created in 1998 by our visionary founder Art Smith.
A decade later, we implemented the 10 Year Plan to End Homelessness—the first of its kind in Canada, resulting in nearly 10,000 people housed.
Today, we continue to guide the fight against homelessness, synchronizing the efforts of governments, agencies, and community to create an integrated system of care for people experiencing homelessness.

We acknowledge that we are on the traditional territories of the First Nations’ peoples of the Treaty 7. We respect the histories, languages, and cultures of the original Nations of Treaty 7, whose presence continues to enrich our communities; the traditional and ancestral lands of: Siksika, Kainai, and Piikani First Nations, the Tsuut’ina Nation, the Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney Nations of the Iyahe Nakoda and the Metis of Region 3.
We are a team of people from different walks of life, united by one purpose: to help guide the collective fight against homelessness in Calgary.
Meet our board members, our Executive Leadership team, and the men, women and youth with lived experiences of homelessness who inspire us every day.
