Client Action Committee
What it is
The Client Action Committee (CAC) is a group of members with past or current lived experience of homelessness. Since its inception in 2012, the CAC has advised the homeless-serving sector from the perspective of the people it serves.
How it works
The CAC meets bi-weekly with Calgary Homeless Foundation and other agencies to spearhead projects and provide feedback on initiatives in the homeless-serving sector.
Why it’s important
People experiencing homelessness are essential partners in influencing decisions that directly affect them. We can meet the needs of people experiencing homelessness by allowing the voice of lived and living experience to inform our work.
Youth Advisory Table
What it is
The Youth Advisory Table is a group of individuals between the ages of 16 and 25 who have lived experience of homelessness. Members provide valuable insights that influence policy, improve services, and raise awareness about youth homelessness.
How it works
The Youth Advisory Table gathers bi-weekly to consult with youth programs within the homeless-serving sector, and to plan events and projects that contribute towards the end of youth homelessness in our city.
Why it’s important
Like the adults who form part of the Client Action Committee, youth experiencing homelessness are essential partners to Calgary Homeless Foundation. Their voices guide our work, helping us meet their needs.
