What can I do if someone asks for money?
It’s your money; it’s up to you how you spend it and up to them once it’s theirs!
But just looking someone in the eye when they are in a vulnerable situation makes a big difference.
Help with food and supplies
You can also offer groceries, lunch, or a hot drink.
They might not want it but will appreciate that you offered to help.
Direct them to SORCe
You can also tell them about SORCe, a referral service at City Hall station.
This team is trained to direct people to support services.
What can I do if I see someone sleeping outside?
If they appear peaceful but you still think they need help, you can call the Alpha House’s Encampment Team at 403.805.7388.
They will connect the person to housing and other resources.
